The Best Stroller Rain Cover

Finding the best stroller rain cover will not just protect them from rain, but other weather elements like snow and wind. Extra features like the universal fit, waterproof storage compartments, and an easy access window helped the best stroller rain covers make my list.

Best Overall Stroller Rain Cover:
Best Double Stroller Rain Cover:

The Best Stroller Rain Cover

For a budget rain cover, the Jeep Weather Shield and the Emoly Rain Cover are both inexpensive options with the Emoly offering a couple more features than the Jeep. For a high-end cover for jogging strollers, the BOB Weather Shield boasts 5-star reviews.

Manito Weather Shield

The Manito Weather Shield is very versatile and fits most traditional and jogging strollers. The rain cover fits strollers with canopies measuring between 15″-19″.

Firstly, the Manito Stroller Weather Shield can be used for front-facing and rear-facing strollers. There are ventilation screens on either side to make sure your little one is getting plenty of airflow. The bottom wraps around the footrest of your stroller to ensure total protection from rainy or snowy weather.

What I really like is the protection from the sun it provides. My kids inherited my fair skin and are more prone to sunburns. The shield gives 99% protection from those harmful UV rays. It also is equipped with elastic S-hooks to make sure the wind doesn’t blow it off.

Secondly, if your kids are still into the biting everything phase, you can rest easy because the cover is made from non-toxic material and is made of eco-friendly fabric.

There is a handy zipper entry making it easy to get your kiddo in and out of the stroller. In addition, some strollers can fold up without a problem while the cover is still attached. You will also find two storage pockets on the back of the cover.

Thirdly, it should be noted, while the cover does protect from UV rays, you shouldn’t use it solely to protect from the heat. It should be used for rain, snow, and wind.

Finally, you have 5 color choices to pick from: black, blue, green, gray, and red. You can easily pick one that fits your stroller the best. It also includes a pouch for easy storage.

The Bemece Stroller Rain Cover offers you protection from everything mother nature wants to throw your way. Whether you are caught in snow or rain, the Bemece stroller rain cover will help protect your little one.

Firstly, the cover is made out of a non-toxic film which is reassuring since little ones love to put things in their mouth. The rain cover has a convenient see-through large window, which makes it easy to get the baby in and out of the stroller.

Secondly, the velcro straps in the back prevent the cover from flapping in the wind. In addition, the zipper is waterproof and will prevent water from creeping in.

Thirdly, the cover has air holes on either side, making sure there is sufficient airflow for your kiddo. In addition to the rain cover, you also receive a mosquito net, which is great for preventing pesky bug bites.

Finally, as far as size and color go, black trim is your only color option but you can choose from medium, large, or size they have labeled “LL”. You’ll want medium for smaller strollers, like lightweight or umbrellas. The large will fit traditional strollers and travel systems. The LL cover fits your stroller when it is in bassinet mode.

ROSIE POPE Rain Cover

Ok, this one is just pretty. If you are going to get caught in the rain, shouldn’t you at least look good doing so with the ROSIE POPE Rain Cover?

Firstly, it fits most strollers, including travel systems. As a bonus, it also fits tandem strollers. The cover has a convenient storage pouch on the back where you can keep your valuables.

The large window allows your child to see their surroundings, all while staying dry and warm inside their stroller.

Secondly, the cover securely straps to the wheels of your stroller. There are side mesh flaps allowing plenty of ventilation for your little one.

Keep in mind, you will have to take the cover off in order to fold your stroller up for storage.

Finally, my favorite feature on this rain cover. The raindrops on the cover change color when they are wet. While it certainly doesn’t change the function of the stroller, it’s a fun extra feature your kiddo will likely enjoy.

Jeep Weather Shield

The Jeep Weather Shield is a great universal option for most travel systems.

Firstly, the weather shield protects your baby from all types of weather: wind, snow, rain, and cold temps.

In addition, each side of the weather shield has holes for ventilation, allowing your baby to breathe easily. The storage pocket on the back makes it easy to keep your personal items dry and safe from the weather.

Secondly, it comes with its own storage bag making it easy to transport your rain cover. The cover is completely clear, meaning you will have no problem making sure your baby is comfortable underneath.

Finally, the cover installs very quickly and offers maximum coverage. While some universal rain covers may cover travel systems, it’s nice to have one specifically made for that purpose.

You will want to make sure the cover completely covers your stroller since there is nothing attaching it at the bottom. Your baby will get wet with an improper fit.

The Rain Cover by Baohua is going to provide your baby with the weather protection they need, with a few added features.

Firstly, the rain cover gives 360 degrees protection from wind, rain, snow, germs, and dust. Both sides of the cover have ventilation holes to make sure your baby has no problem breathing while underneath.

In addition, the cover has hooks on the bottom to securely attach to your stroller. This is ideal so the wind doesn’t blow your cover off.

Secondly, there is a large storage pocket in the back and protects your personal items from the elements of nature. The blue polka-dotted fabric is an added bonus.

The front-facing window provides a place for your kiddo to look out but also the bonus of UV protection. There is an additional screen you can pull down to provide extra sun protection.

Finally, you will have no problems getting your little one in and out of the rain cover. There is a handy zipper opening in front, meaning you don’t have to pull the entire cover off just to pick up your child. The zipper is waterproof to make sure no rain makes its way inside the stroller.

The rain cover fits strollers best that have a canopy size of 15″-16″.

Wonder Buggy Rain Cover

The Wonder Buggy Rain Cover is a universal cover fitting strollers with a canopy width between 15″-16″. Not only is it colorful, but it does the job of protecting your kiddo from rain or other inclement weather.

Firstly, it provides a clear vision for your baby to avoid any optical distortions. These distortions can cause dizziness or tiredness in a baby, so it’s a plus to have this feature in a rain cover. The cover also has ventilation on either side allowing airflow through the cover.

In addition, the three sides protect your baby from the harmful UV rays the sun gives off. There is a sun curtain to provide extra protection on the really sunny days.

Secondly, putting your child into your stroller is a breeze. There is a waterproof zippered entrance making for easy access in and out. I do appreciate it when there is a window in front allowing for quick transitions. If your baby needs something it means you don’t need to take the whole cover off to tend to them. That’s especially nice during a downpour.

When the baby’s snack tray is not attached, the access window is easier to use. The bar may get in the way and make it difficult to access your baby. Obviously, if it’s a sudden storm and you are quickly putting the cover on, you won’t have time to take the snack tray off. However, if you know you’ll be using the rain cover, it might be a good idea to remove the tray beforehand.

The rain cover attaches at the bottom with S-hooks to prevent any wind from blowing it off. The stroller can be folded up when the rain cover is attached.

Thirdly, it comes with a convenient storage bag. In addition, there are two storage compartments on the back where you can easily stash a few of your baby’s essentials.

Finally, you can choose from either blue, pink, or black. The pink is nice and bright, so if you are taking your stroller to Disney World, it might be a good option for you. It will be easy to spot it out in a crowd! If you’ve been to Disney with a stroller, you know they start to blend in with the crowd.

The Emoly Stroller Rain Cover is the perfect, affordable option for protecting your baby from bad weather.

Firstly, the cover is made from non-toxic, 100% EVA material. Unlike some other plastic coverings, it does not produce an odorous smell.

It is extremely portable and easy to fold up for transport, which is always a good thing.

Secondly, the cover offers ventilation on both sides to ensure your baby has sufficient airflow. The large window allows them to check out their surroundings, all while staying nice and dry. There is a waterproof zipper on the front, allowing you to easily access your little one.

You also have the option to choose from either a white or black trim on your rain cover.

Finally, the straps on the rain cover ensure it won’t be blown away.

Jeep Jogging Weather Shield

If you have a jogging stroller, I recommend getting a rain cover specifically designed for it. The Jeep Jogging Weather Shield comes in a universal size, making it easy to fit your personal stroller.

Firstly, the rain cover is very easy to install and just take moments. I appreciate this, especially if I’m hurrying to put it on in inclement weather. It slips right over the top of your stroller. While there are no hooks attaching it at the bottom, it does a good job of staying in place.

Secondly, the Jeep rain cover provides much-needed ventilation with holes on both sides allowing air to easily flow through. In addition, there is a waterproof, covered pouch on the back to ensure your personal items stay dry.

Finally, if you have a larger jogging stroller, like a BOB, it does cover it but with some exceptions. The exposed footrest will likely collect water. However, it does cover your sweet little one.

BOB Duallie Weather Shield

To finish off my list of the best stroller rain cover is the BOB Duallie Weather Shield

Firstly, we all know BOB products don’t come with a low price tag but they do offer some of the highest quality products out there. If you have a large double stroller, you need a rain cover that will fit it.

I, personally, have a double BOB and know that universal products don’t typically work on it. It’s just part of owning one.

Secondly, the BOB rain cover is compatible with all Duallie strollers. As a note, it will not work if you have an infant car seat attached to your stroller.

It offers double-sided ventilation to ensure your baby is getting the appropriate amount of airflow. While you need to take the entire cover off to get your kids out, there are convenient spots on each side where you can pass a snack or drink to your child. As we know, even in the rain or snow, your child will still want a snack.

In addition, installation is easy with this rain cover. You simply slip it over, and it securely attaches to your stroller. The large viewing window gives your little one the opportunity to see the outside world, all while staying warm and dry inside.

Keep in mind, the rain cover doesn’t cover your underneath storage basket, so you likely will want to prepare for that in case you get caught in the rain.

Best Double Stroller Rain Cover

Both the Aligle Weather Shield and Jeep Rain Cover are made for double strollers where one seat sits in front of the other. With that being said, the Aligle does fit more double strollers than the Jeep. For seats that are side-by-side, there is another Aligle Weather Shield for those type of strollers.

Jeep Double Stroller Rain Cover

The Jeep Double Stroller Rain Cover is the solution for you, twin mamas, or anyone else pushing around two kids.

Firstly, it is incredibly easy to install and fits most tandem strollers, not just those by the Jeep brand. It comes with a storage bag, making it easy to keep in your car when you don’t need it.

In addition, the cover has a waterproof pouch to protect your personal items.

Secondly, the cover will protect your precious little one from rain, wind, snow, and cold temperatures. The netting on either side allows for ventilation, to ensure your kiddo gets plenty of airflow in their seat.

The rain cover simply slips right over your double stroller. It doesn’t hook at the bottom, however, it provides a snug fit to ensure it doesn’t blow off. If you want added protection, I recommend adding your own velcro strips at the bottom.

In addition, it does have snaps to attach the cover to the stroller handles.

Finally, what I like about all the Jeep rain covers is the price. You get a quality product without spending an arm and a leg.

Aligle Double Stroller Rain Cover

The Aligle Double Stroller Rain Cover is a universal cover for double strollers that are configured with the seats front and back (not side by side). It is low cost and well-reviewed.

The Aligle has enough length and width to accommodate almost every front and back double stroller. It has air vents and is made from PVC. While it provides plenty of coverage for your child, it doesn’t reach down far enough to cover the stroller storage area. It wouldn’t do well in a blowing rainstorm, but then, neither would you.

Aligle also offers the Twin Side by Side Rain Cover for strollers with seats configured side by side. Like the Aligle universal cover above, this one is also low-cost and universal in fit.

Stroller Rain Covers Compared

The table below compares only the recommended products on this page. A low or high Price means it is low or high compared to the other products listed. The Popularity Score reflects how often readers click on and buy the product. The Quality Score is our assessment of the overall performance and satisfaction with the product compared to others in the table.

Stroller Rain Cover Buying Criteria

Just like with any piece of baby gear, several factors go into determining the best of the best. My favorite products are ones that are high quality at a great price. I promise that isn’t just a unicorn idea!

The rain covers on my list are all affordable and provide great protection for your sweet little one. Here are the criteria I looked at.

Coverage

Rain covers should cover your stroller, allowing no rain or wind into the seat portion. Buying something with a universal fit can sometimes be tricky because there is always the chance your stroller doesn’t work with it.

Thankfully, the universal rain covers on my list do fit the majority of strollers and are going to be a cheaper option than buying a rain cover from your stroller brand directly.

To keep your baby extra warm, consider investing in a quality footmuff

Durability

The best stroller rain cover will last you through more than one rainstorm. You don’t want to buy something that is going to tear apart after its first use.

Being able to withstand all weather elements, including rain, snow, and wind, means you need a rain cover that can hold up.

Price

For a product you won’t use on a daily basis, there is no reason to break the bank. A stroller rain cover shouldn’t be too costly. I made a point to find quality covers at reasonable prices.

Extra Features

If there is a heavy downpour, I’d at least like to keep my phone and wallet dry. I prefer the rain covers that come with a waterproof storage compartment on the back. If I’m going to get soaked, I’d at least like my personal items to stay dry.

I also like the feature of a storage bag. It means I can just always have it handy without taking up a bunch of space.

Accessibility

While they don’t all offer it, it is convenient to have an access window in the front. Some of the rain covers you do have to pull off in order to get to your baby. While there are worse problems to have, if you are constantly taking the cover off and on, you will quickly grow tired of doing so.

Some of the best stroller rain covers have a handy waterproof zipper making it super easy to get your little one out.

FAQs – Stroller Rain Covers

Are stroller rain covers safe?

Looking at stroller rain covers, you may wonder if your baby can breathe under there. The best stroller rain cover has ventilation on both sides, allowing plenty of airflow for your little one.

It is not recommended to use a rain cover in extremely hot weather. Although there is ventilation, it will feel much warmer for them inside.

Why would I need a stroller rain cover?

The reality is, you never know when bad weather will strike if you are out and about. The rain covers fold up nicely and can store right at the bottom of your stroller, just in case you need it.

I also highly recommend investing in one before you go somewhere like Disney World. I, personally, have been caught in one of those Florida afternoon rainstorms and was not prepared with a rain cover.

As an extra tip, we have you covered on the best strollers to take to Disney World

Can I store my stroller outside?

Sometimes we just don’t have room for one more thing in our house. If you are short on storage space, you may have considered keeping your stroller outside.

If it will be exposed to the elements, I recommend keeping your stroller rain cover on top to prevent any damage from occurring. In addition, it’s a good idea to use a bike lock and secure your stroller. I actually did this with our double BOB in our last house.
