The 10 Best Baby Grooming Kits

We’ve reviewed hundreds of big and expensive baby products at Experienced Mommy, but sometimes the smaller things are the true life-savers! These kits are recommended based on the overall price and quality, as well as content selections and comprehensiveness.

Best Baby Grooming Kits

The Safety 1st Kit, Baby Grooming Health Kit by KAILEXBABY, and ARRNEW Kit all include a case for storing baby’s grooming tools. Unlike the other two kits, the Safety 1st Kit includes the most tools.

In searching for the best baby grooming and care kits, the requirements I had were: affordable prices, good quality, great reviews, and comprehensiveness/completeness of the set. You’ll notice that each of the travel kits are in price order from lowest to highest. I hope that helps you make the quickest and easiest decision possible.

First up for the travel-friendly options, we have the Safety 1st First Grooming Kit.

If you’re looking for a simple, no-frills, travel-friendly grooming kit on a budget, look no further. This affordable kit includes:

  • hairbrush
  • comb
  • nail clippers
  • spritzer bottle
  • 5 nail files
  • carrying bag

Pros

This kit is incredibly simple and straightforward. There’s no learning curve involved with any of the tools.

Portability at its finest! You can throw this cute, reversible pouch into a diaper bag, or store it in the nursery for quick access after bath time.

Cons

Unlike some of the other kits on this list, this one doesn’t include any medical accessories. If you already have some of the tools, such as a NoseFrida and thermometer, then this will probably not be an issue for you. However, if you are wanting an all-inclusive grooming and medical kit combined, then this probably isn’t the one for you.

KailexBaby Baby Grooming Kit

Baby Grooming Health Kit by KAILEXBABY, 10 pcs Portable Nursery Manicure Care Set,Safe Nail Clippers, File, Brush, Comb, Necessities for Newborn Infant Toddler Girl

Travel-Friendly Kit

Definitely take a look at the Baby Grooming Health Kit by KAILEXBABY! This sweet little kit has various devices that are unlike what we’ve seen in the previous kits.

This one includes:

  • Hairbrush
  • Comb
  • Oral-suction nasal aspirator
  • Thermometer
  • Nail clippers
  • Nail scissors
  • Glass nail file
  • Finger toothbrush
  • Medicine dropper
  • Carrying case

Pros

You choose the color of your case, either pink or blue.

The oral-suction nasal aspirator (similar to a NoseFrida) is more hygienic than the bulb type that comes in most baby kits, since bulbs are basically impossible to clean thoroughly (and there’s no way to see how clean it is inside).

This could be both a pro and a con, but this nasal aspirator doesn’t come with any filters. That’s good because it makes the aspirator more cost-efficient, since you won’t have to purchase new filters when you use up the ones that came with the device. However, some people may be grossed out at the idea of not having a filter between their mouth and their child’s snot. Whether or not to consider the lack of filters a pro or a con is definitely a personal preference.

Treat your baby to the mani/pedi of their life! This kit comes with a beautiful ombre-colored glass nail file. Not a lot of baby grooming kits include a glass file, so that’s pretty impressive.

Cons

There are only two medical tools in this kit: the nasal aspirator and the medicine dropper. However, the nasal aspirator in this kit is superior to the bulb aspirators in the other kits, so I don’t consider this a major downside.

The only two available colors are pink and blue, so there aren’t any specifically gender-neutral options. This is especially frustrating if you’re using this kit for multiple children. However, since most people consider blue to be a fairly gender-neutral color, this probably isn’t a deal-breaker in most cases.

ARRNEW 4-in-1 Baby Grooming Kit

At-Home Kit

This and the next few baby grooming kits aren’t easily transportable, but they make great (and even decorative) additions to your home wellness supply kit.

The ARRNEW 4-in-1 Baby Grooming Kit is simply adorable! And on top of that, you get to choose between six colors/designs: brown, mint, pink, gold, purple, or penguin.

This kit includes:

  • Fingernail clippers
  • Scissors
  • Nail file
  • Tweezer

Pros

No need to hide this kit in a drawer! It’s so delightfully adorable that it can literally become part of your nursery’s decor. Leave it on the changing table or dresser for quick access and to add an extra touch of cuteness to the room.

Grooming items are small and the perfect size for using on little nails. The nail file is actually a glass nail file, so it’ll last!

All of the pieces in this kit fit snuggly together, almost into each other, creating a compact package and reducing the space the entire kit takes up on the dresser.

Cons

The only negative thing about this kit is that it is only a manicure set. It doesn’t include any hair brushes are medical equipment.

That completes our list of the best baby grooming kits you can buy for under $50. If you’re still not convinced that a pre-made baby grooming kit is best for you, then a great option would be to build your own! Here’s a list of all the items that are good to have in your mommy (or daddy) tool kit.

    • Nail Files
    • Nail Clippers
    • Nasal Aspirator
    • Hair Brush
    • Comb
    • Cradle Cap Comb
    • Digital Thermometer
    • Thermometer Covers
    • Toothbrush
    • Tweezers
    • Bath Brush
    • Wash Cloths
    • Medicine Bottle or Pacifier
    • Medicine Dropper
  • Syringe
  • Teething Toys

Best Baby Care and Grooming Kits

Compared to the other kits below, the Safety 1st Deluxe Kit includes the most pieces (30). FridaBaby Basics Kit and FridaBaby Bitty Bundle Kit both include Windi, NoseFrida, and NailFrida but FridaBaby Basics also includes DermaFrida and FridaBaby Bitty Bundle includes Fridet.

FridaBaby Baby Basics Kit

Frida Baby Baby Basics Kit|Includes NoseFrida, NailFrida, Windi, DermaFrida + Silicone Carry Case

Popularity

First up for FridaBaby is the Baby Basics Kit. This is the cheaper of the two FridaBaby kits listed in this article, but it also has fewer items than the one below.

This one includes:

  • 5 Windi GasPassers
  • NoseFrida Snot Sucker
    • 4 disposable hygiene filters
  • NailFrida SnipperClipper Set
    • nail clippers
    • s-curved file
  • DermaFrida SkinSoother silicone baby bath brush
  • Carrying Case

Pros

This kit is unique in that it’s the first one that comes with anything for gassy babies. The Windi GasPassers help baby pass trapped gas that is causing them discomfort.

FridaBaby has already proven to have good-quality items, so you can rest assured that your money won’t be going to waste on a low-quality kit.

Comes with a carrying case to make it easily portable.

Cons

Each Windi GasPasser is a single-use piece of plastic. It can save your sanity in a pinch, but it isn’t the most cost-efficient method. Also, it’s fairly wasteful.

The price is pretty high for the number of items in this kit, but the quality assurance behind knowing the brand somewhat makes up for that.

Safety 1st Deluxe Kit

Travel-Friendly Kit

Priced just barely above the previous kit, this one boasts a whole lot more! The Safety 1st Deluxe Kit has all the necessary basics in one pretty package.

What is included:

  • Cradle cap comb
  • Hairbrush
  • Comb
  • Nail clippers
  • 5 Emery boards
  • Clutch carrying case
  • Bulb nasal aspirator
  • Thermometer
  • 5 Thermometer covers
  • Toothbrush
  • Medicine bottle
  • Emergency information card
  • 5 alcohol wipes

Pros

This kit gives you all the fundamental grooming and medical tools you might need for your baby. It can be very easy to overlook the basics when you’re a new (or even experienced) parent because everything is so new and overwhelming. Safety 1st took the guesswork out of it for you with this product.

The carrying clutch makes it easy to take with you on the go, whether in your diaper bag or on its own. It can even be neatly stored in your vehicle for emergencies.

Cons

The thermometer can take over a minute before giving a reading, and any parent knows that that’s a long time to hold a cold probe in a baby’s armpit while they wiggle and/or cry. Also, there was at least one complaint of the thermometer giving false readings. That could very well have been a random faulty thermometer, but it’s worth bearing in mind. Regardless, even if you have to purchase a separate thermometer (or have one in your home already), this kit is well worth the price.

Complete Nursery Care Kit

OTTOLIVES Baby Healthcare and Grooming Kit, 24 in 1 Baby Electric Nail Trimmer Set Newborn Nursery Health Care Set for Newborn Infant Toddlers Baby Boys Girls Kids Haircut Tools (0-3 Years+) (Pink)
Price$$$$
Popularity

Another fantastic option, the Nursery Care Kit includes quite a few unique items, which makes this kit a plausible contestant in our review.

This kit includes:

  • Medicine dropper
  • Nasal aspirator
  • Digital thermometer
  • Round Head Scissors
  • Nail clippers
  • Emery boards (5)
  • Electric Nail Trimmer w/6 Grinding Heads
  • Alcohol Wipes
  • Gum massager
  • Finger brush
  • Comb & Brush

An Electric Nail Trimmer with different heads for different stages? How cool is that?

Cons

There’s no organizing within the carrying bag for all the pieces so be prepared to have a jumbled mess of goodies in there. Some buyers have complained that the quality of these tools isn’t great, so keep that in mind as well.

Frida Baby Bitty Bundle of Joy Mom & Baby Kit

Frida Baby Bitty Bundle of Joy Mom & Baby Healthcare and Grooming Gift Kit

Popularity

Last but not least, we have the Frida Baby Bitty Bundle of Joy Mom & Baby Kit. This is a beast of a kit, so let’s delve into what it contains.

What’s included:

  • NoseFrida SnotSucker
    • 20 disposable hygiene filters
  • 10 Windi GasPassers
  • NailFrida
    • nail clippers
    • s-curved nail file
  • Fridet MomWasher peri bottle
    • waterproof travel bag

Pros

This kit is unique in that it includes something for mom as well as baby. The Fridet MomWasher is a peri bottle that has an ergonomic nozzle for easier reach and cleansing. It also comes with a waterproof travel bag, making life easier for the mom-on-the-go.

Cons

This is the priciest kit reviewed in this post. However, if you can afford it, this would make a lovely gift for a new mom.

First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Care and Grooming Kit

The very best baby grooming kit I’ve found based on customer reviews, price, and number of pieces included, is the First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Care and Grooming Kit.

This is a comprehensive kit at a surprisingly low price. It includes:

  • brush
  • comb
  • scissors
  • nail clipper
  • fingertip toothbrush
  • toddler toothbrush
  • mirror
  • nasal aspirator
  • digital thermometer (with case)
  • medicine dropper
  • medicine spoon (with cap)
  • baby care, wellness and safety guide
  • tote for carrying everything around

Pros

All of the items come in a clear plastic zip-up bag, making it easy to store them in a bathroom cabinet or drawer. This is a great way to keep all the pieces together in one go-to place and there’s room to add more pieces too.

Everything in this kit, with the exception of the thermometer, is safe to sterilize in boiling water or a steam sterilizer.

The price. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this kit!

Cons

The kit does not secure any of the baby grooming pieces in place so expect them to be bouncing around in the clear bag when traveling. Some say the tools feel a little cheap as well.

Travel-Friendly Kit

The Tommee Tippee Care & Grooming Kit features essential baby grooming and care items in a zip-up travel bag. Every item is organized in the perfect way, making organization a breeze.

Featured items:

  • Comb
  • Brush
  • Nail clippers
  • Toothbrush
  • Nail files
  • Digital thermometer
  • Scissors
  • Nasal aspirator
  • Case

Pros

The items in this grooming and care kit are decent size as opposed to some baby items that are teeny-tiny.

Cons

The price is kind of high for a grooming and care kit that only contains 9 items.

Some buyers have complained that the nasal aspirator doesn’t work well.

Travel-Friendly Kit

The Safety 1st Deluxe Care & Grooming Kit is everything a new parent could wish for in a care & grooming kit. If you have a low budget for a kit, this is definitely one to consider!

What’s Included:

  • Cute clutch for carrying everything
  • Brush
  • Comb
  • Nasal aspirator
  • Bottle medicine dispenser
  • Nail clippers
  • Nail files
  • Toothbrush
  • Digital thermometer (with 5 disposable thermometer covers)

Pros

The clutch is adorable and will fit nicely in a diaper bag while holding all your baby’s grooming essentials.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive grooming kit, this is a great choice. You get the necessities (plus a digital thermometer) for a really good price.

Cons

A previous buyer said the thermometer was not accurate. You may want to double-check its accuracy with another thermometer before relying on it.

FAQs – Baby Grooming Kits

Should I build my own baby grooming kit?

Building your own is certainly an option, but there are perks to buying a pre-made kit:

  1. Kits are usually more cost-effective than purchasing each item individually
  2. It’s easy to overlook an important or useful item when building your own. Buying a kit takes the guesswork out of it.

You can find a build-your-own-kit list in this article if you would prefer to do it yourself.

Why do I need a baby grooming kit?

An infant’s grooming and wellness needs can be unexpectedly complex. From cradle cap to stuffy noses (and everything in between), babies require a host of grooming and medical tools you won’t regularly find in your bathroom cabinet. Not surprisingly, caring for babies can be a stressful endeavor. Having the proper grooming kit will ease your life with a newborn.

What is the difference between a travel grooming kit and a regular baby grooming kit?

There isn’t actually a big difference, but we’ve selected some kits that are more portable and have items that could be handy when you travel. Regular kits may have more items and be designed to be stationary in a nursery or bathroom, whereas travel kits usually have a manageable and easy-to-carry bag.

Is the FridaBaby Bitty Bundle better than the FridaBaby Basics Kit?

Both kits include NailFrida, NoseFrida, and Windi (the Gaspasser). The difference is that FridaBaby Bitty Bundle also includes Fridet (the Mom Washer) and FridaBaby Basics also include DermaFrida (the SkinSoother).

With that being said, FridaBaby Basics Kit is better overall because DermaFrida (the SkinSoother) will be used for a longer period of time than Fridet (the Mom Washer).
