Baby Food Processor by Homia – Best Overall

Image of the Baby Food Maker Chopper Grinder - Mills and Steamer 7 in 1 Processor For Toddlers With Steam, Blend, Chop, Disinfect, Clean Function, 20 Oz Tritan Stirring Cup, Touch Control Panel, Auto Shut-Off

The Baby Food Processor by Homia steams blends and makes being a mom much easier. This super little machine is stylish to boot for baby food even adults would want to eat. With the push of a few buttons, you will be able to serve delicious and healthy food to your baby. Go forth and cook!

What I Love

Easy to Clean: Toss the parts in the dishwasher and walk away. Better yet, this item has auto-clean and disinfect function too. Way to go Homia!
Assembly: The parts fit where they should with ease.
Storage and Space:  Low on counter space? This is the baby food maker for you. Smaller than a coffee maker (and a bread box).
Capacity: Up to 20 ounces (that is five baby food jars) to keep you from doing this every day. Even better the stirring cup is BPA, Lead, and Phthalate free.
Double Protection: Not only does the machine have two safety buttons but it also will turn off if overheated.
Functions: Beyond cleaning, this item can reheat, defrost, auto blend, steam, or pulse, and auto shut-off.
Customer Service:  The company responds to emails super fast and replaces defective parts without hassle.

What I Do Not Love

Price: The price is up there, my friends. If the price is an issue try one of the other models.
Locking: Reassembling the locking mechanism can be difficult.

Mliter All in One Baby Food Maker

Image of the MLITER All in One Baby Food Maker with Steam Cooker, Blender, Chopper, Sterilizer & Warmer for Organic Food Cooking, Pureeing & Reheating - BPA Free Food Processor with 3 Baskets & LCD Display

Mliter All in One Baby Food Maker will help you to save money because baby food is expensive. This handy-dandy machine comes with an LCD screen. Time to save money, cook healthy, and live life simply with this helpful machine.

What I Love

Auto Shut off: Life is busy, this machine shuts its self off if you get busy with the baby.
Function: Steam, sterilize, blend, defrost, or reheat all at the touch of a button.
Built-in Tool Storage: I’m serious! The bottom opens for storage as if real thought was put into the design and to save space in the kitchen.
Compact: The compact design will fit on your kitchen counters easily.
Easy to Use: Click, click, click, baby food is on the way. What could be simpler?
Easy to Clean: With all the things you have to clean every day this one will be easy to wipe down and toss the parts into the dishwasher.

What I Do Not Love

Price: Cost a little less than the Homia Baby Food Maker but the price is still high.
In the Box: The box may be missing parts.

QOOC 4-in-1 Mini Baby Food Maker

Image of the QOOC 4-in-1 Mini Baby Food Maker

The QOOC 4-in-1 baby food maker cooks, purees, and reheats quickly all in one mighty little machine. Designed for busy moms, this blender works one-handed so you can cook and have a baby on your hip and quietly to keep your baby snoozing in your arms.

What I Love

Function: Steam, blend, reheat, and defrost to make quick homemade meals for your child. The one-hand controls and the super quiet motor are a bonus. Pulses every five seconds to grind up the food.
Compact: The mini size will take up less of your precious counter space.
Easy to Clean: Clean up is a cinch with this tidy little machine.
Price: This baby food maker is considerably cheaper than the other makers above.

What I Do Not Love

Fragile: The blade and bowl connection can break easily so be careful mamas.
Water Tank: The water tank can gather build-up. Do not leave water on the tank and make sure to clean well after each use.
Puree: This puree function leaves chunks, strain those bits out if using for a younger baby.
Dies Quickly:  This model can break after a few months. Make sure you keep the information for warranty issues.

Babymoov Nutribaby 5-in-1 Baby Food Maker

Image of the Babymoov Nutribaby - 5 in 1 Baby Food Maker with Steam Cooker, Blend & Puree, Warmer, Defroster, Sterilizer

Babymoov Nutribaby 5-in-1 Baby Food Maker offers a lot of functions to help a mom multitask and get on with her day. Making your own baby food should not be stuck cooking meals for those with teeth and those without teeth all day long. Even better, this machine can sterilize bottles (and pacifiers) and warm up cold milk! Unfortunately, this baby food maker has more problems than the other makers mentioned up top.

What I Love

Function: Five different functions including cooking, warming bottles, defrosting, reheating, or pureeing this machine has an unlimited baby food capacity. The puree level can be changed for different aged babies.
Easy to Use:  The LCD screen includes auto alerts to keep you on track and you can programme for multi-tasking mamas.
Capacity: Whip up 25 serving in a few minutes! That’s all your meals for a week.
Easy to Clean: The pieces can go in the dishwasher for easy clean-up.
Lifetime Warranty: Even after all your babies have been fed via this machine you can still return it if it malfunctions. Keep it to use with your grandkids too.

What I Do Not Love

Design: The green and white design has the appearance of a kids toy than a cooking appliance.
Quality: Can break after a few months. You can only do one function at a time.
Blender: Not the most powerful blender. Use in intervals to avoid breaking early. Never use for more than 30 seconds before stopping for a few minutes.
Steamer: The steamer cannot be used alone must be used with the other components. The steamer is supposed to work alone so this could be user malfunction.
Price:  The price is too high for the faults.

The Babymoov Duo Meal Station comes with more functions but with a bigger price but could be great for moms of multiples. Also, The Duo Meal Station looks more like a kitchen appliance than a toy over the Babymoov Nutribaby.

Cusinart Baby Food Maker

Image of the Cuisinart BFM-1000 Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer

Cusinart Baby Food Maker is marketed as a baby food maker and bottle warmer and the simplistic design will appeal to many moms with limited space or a mild phobia of too many parts to store and keep track of in the kitchen. Bottles are warmed in a different spot hidden in the lid for a decent looking appliance in soft gray and white. Make baby food and keep life effortless.

What I Love

Bottle Warmer: The separate bottle warm saves using other potentially dangerous methods to warm bottles.
Function: Steam, chop, puree, and warm bottles. Everything thing you need in one clever little package.
Auto Shut-Off: The appliance shuts off when the water has evaporated. Epic!
Extras:  A cookbook, spatula, and an integrated measuring cup help prepare food in the cooker.
Appearance: Comes in soft gray and white or pink or green if you have a gender-biased kitchen.
Capacity: Make a lot at once with a height of 10 inches by 1o inches by 7 inches.
Price: This is the second cheapest option available on this review.

What I Do Not Love

Cleanliness: Food and steam get trapped in hard to clean areas creating an environment for mold.
Heating Coil: The heating coil can become black and leave bits in the baby food. Avoid this by cleaning well after each use and letting the chamber dry properly.
Quality: Breaks easily and the plastic cracks too and can steam for way less time than advertised. Overall, the machine can be unreliable.
Puree:  The puree function seems to be faulty for many customers.

Guide to Selecting a Baby Food Maker

Appliances are regulated by energy and by national standards. Make sure the baby food maker you purchase lists any standards they comply with and if none are available, check with the company to make sure you have a safe product.

BPA Free

Chemicals are bad, we all know this, all of the above baby food makers are BPA free as our great nation has caught on to not using this chemical, or others, that can leach into our foods and drinks. Do make sure the one you purchase is BPA free.

Strong Materials

When making baby food you want products that will not fall apart and put unexpected debris in the baby food and you certainly do not want to be harmed in the process! If something looks flimsy, it probably is, return it now!

Dishwasher Safe

Dishwasher safe is not really necessary, but many people just do not want to wash any dishes by hand and why should you when there is a machine ready and waiting to do the dirty work for you? Enjoy this little luxury, it is one of the main staples of electricity!

Sure a mini machine will take up less space on your counter but you will end up having to make baby food more often and who has the time or desire to do that other than Beechnut or Gerber? Save yourself time and invest in a big capacity model unless space is more of an issue than time.

Mold Resistant

Mold is not only funky and smelly but potentially very harmful especially for a baby with allergies. If the mold is because of improper use or washing than wash with vinegar to kill the majority of molds safely. If the mold is because of a manufacturing issue return and try a new machine.

Why wouldn’t you want a machine that can do more to save you effort? Multi-function jobs get more done with less work for you.

FAQ’s about Baby Food Makers

Can you cook rice or grains in a baby food maker?

Most of these cookers are not designed to cook rice or grains but no reason not to try. The machine could surprise you. Otherwise, you can still use the baby food maker to puree the rice or grains for you after cooking in a difference appliance.

Can you cook meat in a baby food maker?

Most of these can cook meat. Please keep a meat thermometer on hand to check the temperatures.

Can you make different consistencies for different ages?

Most baby food makers can accommodate different texture levels for different ages. If the machine does not list this then check as older babies do not want to eat pure puree forever.

How do you clean the water reservoir?

Descaling a water reservoir can be done with vinegar or with citric acid packets, which can be purchased at most general stores that sell small appliances.

Can you sterilize pacifiers?

This is definitely a task most baby food makers can handle, and probably more safely than other appliances.

Can it warm breastmilk?

Yes, make sure to check the temperature before serving to your child.
