When you’ve got twins, you need an extra set of hands. Using a baby carrier for your twins is the best way to do that. And yes, there are ways to wear both your babies at the same time with just one carrier. From wraps to structured carriers, we have found all the safe and easy-to-use carriers on the market. Here’s our guide to the best twin baby carriers.
Best Twin Baby Carriers
TwinGo Original Baby Carrier
This genius carrier was designed by a mom of twins, so you know it’s gonna be good. Just like the Twingaroo, the TwinGo Original Baby Carrier eliminates the need to buy two of everything. Just buy this baby carrier and use it as one twin carrier or two single carriers.
You can use the front carrier alone, the back carrier alone, or use them combined as a double baby carrier. Just add the extra set of straps if you want the other parent to wear the other carrier and you’ll be good to go. This carrier is made for babies from 10 pounds up to 35 pounds in the tandem carrier, or 45 pounds in the single carrier. Buy the TwinGo Infant Insert and you can use this carrier even earlier, starting at just 7 pounds.
Each TwinGo carrier is fully adjustable to different size settings from XS to XL using 8 different adjustment zones, which means that it won’t be too big for a petite momma or too small for a big dad. You’ll also find thick shoulder straps, a bottom band with lumbar support, and durable plastic clips and buckles.
This soft structured baby carrier for twins also offers great storage in the form of 2 big, reversible pockets. These can be filled with diapers, snacks, or whatever else your day calls for. You can also detach them and use them as a travel bag to store the baby carriers themselves!
The two things that really set this carrier apart are the ergonomic design and the cotton hood. You must get a carrier that keeps baby’s hips and spine in a safe and healthy position, and having the option of a hood can help you to nurse your baby discreetly or shield them from the sun.
4-in-1 Twin Baby Carrier
The 4-in-1 Twin Baby Carrier is another good carrier option if you have twins. I’ve got this one at the bottom of the list for 2 big reasons: it’s harder to use and it’s simply not as nice as the other options. But here’s a bit about this carrier.
This Ukranian carrier has two seats for 2 babies, from 10 pounds up to 35 pounds each. The babies can face inward only, but the seat keeps their hips in that great ergonomic position. This carrier works well with older babies, about 4 months or older simply because of the large size of the whole carrier system.
The thing to note here is that the babies can be held on the hip, as well as the tandem position. For many moms, one baby on each side is more comfortable and they like being able to see both babies. For others, they might not like the difficulty in navigating doorways with a baby on each side and prefer to have one in front and one on back.
Like I said, this carrier isn’t as user-friendly. It comes with 2 separate carriers and an extra set of shoulder straps and instructions. But you have to figure it out from there, which takes a few minutes because the straps and buckles are confusing.
Here are the two ways to wear, which as you can see still take a few minutes to get set up even when you know what you are doing.
Best Twin Carrier Wraps
Boba Wrap Baby Carrier
Strictly speaking, this isn’t exactly a baby carrier for twins. It’s more or less a top-rated wrap baby carrier that can be used for twins. That’s because the Boba Wrap Baby Carrier has stretch and flexibility to hold both your babies at once.
The Boba is well-loved because it is (Trump voice) huge. It’s approximately 5.5 yards or 16.5 feet of fabric. But before you get overwhelmed, just think about the number of ways you could wrap that and how much support it could provide.
The stretchiness of the 95% cotton and spandex French Terry material is fabulous. It’s breathable! It has 4-way stretch to fit any mom and baby, especially bigger or taller moms. And it’s machine washable for all those accidents that you’ll be getting a double portion of.
Oh, and it’s officially a Hip Healthy Baby Carrier according to the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Thanks, ergonomic design!
And that’s about all there is to say here! I have and love one of these. It’s a lot of fabric and you have to memorize how to wrap it, but it’s so comfortable and perfect for newborns. It’s even great for nursing.
Baby K’Tan Original Baby Wrap Carrier
This is one of the simplest baby carriers out there: no straps, no buckles, no wrapping, and nothing hard or confusing. Just pull it on like a t-shirt and be on your way! The Baby K’Tan Original Baby Wrap Carrier is soft, convenient, and it can be used for twins.
All you have to do is pick your pre-pregnancy clothing size and order the wrap. The perk here is that it will fit you like a glove, and you’ll love the gentle stretch of the jersey-knit cotton. The downside here is that if you end up wanting a wrap for your partner to use, you’ll likely have to order them their own since you can’t adjust the size.
This wrap carrier has breathability, and the double loop design gives baby good support while keeping hips in proper alignment. There’s also a carrying bag that converts to a support sash, which you’ll definitely want to use if you are carrying twins around.
Now, it’s important to note that Baby K’Tan doesn’t officially condone using this for twins on their website, “per the Baby Carrier Industry Standards which state those baby carriers should only be used for one infant at a time. ”
But some moms have successfully (and safely) used this wrap for twin newborns. You can snuggle one in a sling position on each side. After about 10 pounds for each baby, this probably wouldn’t be supportive enough.
Best Baby Sling for Twins
Malishastik Twin Ring Sling
The high-quality linen and cotton Malishastik Twin Ring Sling gives you the support you need for carrying two babies at once. It’s the only ring sling designed purposefully for two babies at one time.
Tandem wear often seems difficult with twins especially for slings designed for a single baby. Now you have a better option with one made for two babies. Plus, ring slings make a great nursing cover.
The aluminum ring makes adjusting this carrier so easy – just pull to your desired tightness and make sure the fabric is secure. You can use this for carrying one baby on either side of you. And if you feel confused by the whole ring securing method, just peruse YouTube for how-to videos. They help a lot!
Ring slings give you some options when using them for twins. You can use two ring slings, one for each baby, or you can tandem wear in a ring sling. Many twin moms like the ease of use that a ring sling brings, and many share that it’s the easiest way to baby wear your babies.
Also, you can use this up to 60 pounds making it sturdy enough for twins. Although, the price is a bit high but worth it for a design made for twins.
The other thing here is that while there are thick straps and buckles for support, there is no storage or other extras. Personally, I’m okay with that, considering the much-lower price of this carrier.

What type of carrier is best for twins?
