This Breast Pump Bag from mommore is designed with enough room to store your breast pump, pump necessities, personal items, and a 15-inch laptop (such as the MacBook Pro). If you love pockets, you’re in for a treat because this breast pump bag features 12 pockets in total — some on the outside and some insulated on the inside. Side pockets allow you to store your breast pump (like the Spectra, Medela, and so on) and pump parts.

As for size, this breast pump bag measures 15.7″ x 11.8″ x 7.9″ and comes with two separate strap options for carrying. Moms love the look and feel of this breast pump bag and how easy it is to open up a side pocket and pull out their pump without taking it out of the main area of the bag.

Issues

Although a popular breast pump bag, some moms complained that the quality isn’t great and the bag was splitting around the seams shortly after they bought it.

Marigold Breast Pump Bag

Life is messy, especially if you are breastfeeding. Make the mess easier to contain with the Marigold Breast Pump Bag. Not only is this bag stylish, but it’s functional and fits most breast pumps.

You’ll first appreciate the water-resistant quilted design that goes where you go and coordinates with whatever you wear. You can choose how you want to carry, either as a crossbody or by the handles and if you don’t like the crossbody, you can take the padded strap off completely.

A matching insulated cooler bag comes with the purse for easy placement in the fridge. No need to try to shove the whole bag in the fridge or place bottles next to someone’s tuna sandwich. Just make sure you don’t forget the bag when you head out!

The purse has a bottom compartment with a discrete zip-out section for the breast pump. Up top, find a large pocket and on the side, a smaller pocket. Inside the main compartment, find extra slots for your phone or keys.

Finally, this bag can easily be your diaper bag and breast pump bag, or work bag. Includes an internal padded laptop slot. Great for travel too, as you can slip it onto your suitcase handle.

Issues

The inner liner is bright red and not quilted like the rest of the bag. This can make hunting for smaller items frustrating.

Also, the price might be too steep for some budgets.

Momcozy Breast Pump & Diapers Bag

The Momcozy Breast Pump & Diapers Bag is a solid bag that can be used for work or anywhere else you need to go. You’ll find this breast pump bag has a width of 6.89 inches when opened, which is pretty large. There are multiple pockets inside including insulated pockets and a place for your breast pump.

Choosing from size large or x-large allows you to pick the best breast pump bag for you. If you need to include your laptop, a notebook pocket fits laptops up to 13 inches. Enjoy carrying this bag with the handles or with the shoulder strap.

Issues

This bag is thin, so don’t expect to receive a thick and super sturdy bag. Also, the insulated pockets aren’t very wide so if you pump a lot during the day, you may not have enough insulated space to store your breastmilk.

Best Breast Pump Backpacks

The V-COOOL Breast Pump Backpack is large enough to carry many different models of breast pumps with plenty of insulation space for the pumped milk, however, the MOMIGO Breast Pump Backpack is geared more towards smaller breast pumps and has less insulated storage for breast milk.

The V-COOOL Breast Pump Backpack is a beautiful and useful way to carry your breast pump out of sight. It’s made of high-quality and waterproof fabric with comfort straps. And you will love the floral motif in black, gray, or white and ready to work with any outfit.

Place the breast pump in the top storage compartment and pumped milk in the lower compartment. Both sections are coolers and there are two mesh side pockets as well.

On the back, you get an extra pocket to store your phone, keys, and wallet. The back also includes a cold insulated layer to keep the milk you pumped at the right temperature. It’s designed to hold the Spectra S1, S2 breast pumps but works with other models as well and you can use it as a backpack too.

A couple of front pockets makes this bag even more useful for storing breast pads or other essentials. The whole backpack stands up on its own too, protecting your expensive breast pump. With the adjustable straps and sturdy zippers, you will love this bag. Once you are done pumping you can still use this backpack for picnics and such, thanks to the double cooler sections!

Issues

You won’t find any issues with this backpack as it’s large, comfortable, and ready to function.

MOMIGO Breast Pump Bag Backpack

Breast Pump Bag Backpack - Cooler and Moistureproof Bag Double Layer for Mother Outdoor Working Backpack, Fit Most Size Breast Pump Large (Black)
Price$$$
Quality

The MOMIGO Breast Pump Bag Backpack is a pretty subtle breast pump bag other than for the small bottle illustration on the front of it. A smaller-sized breast pump and up to 6 breast milk containers can be stored in separate areas of this breast pump backpack.

The inside of the bag is insulated and looks similar to a traditional lunch bag. You can choose from size medium or large, depending on what model of breast pump you have. For reference, a small or mini breast pump would fit well in a size medium bag. Any other breast pumps should be placed in a size large bag.

Issues

Insulation is great so the main issue here is with the size. Make sure you choose the correct size for the breast pump that you’re using, otherwise you may have a hard time fitting everything you need into this smaller breast pump bag backpack.

If you have a smaller breast pump, like the Medela Pump In Style, and want a breast pump bag that’s not massive, consider the Viedouce Women’s Breast Pump Handbag

This breast pump bag is separated into two main areas. The main compartment features 5 pockets and includes a USB charging port, which is super handy for charging your phone on the go. Inside the bag is thick insulation to keep food, breastmilk, and everything else cool. You can carry this bag with the handles or wear it as a backpack and your hands are free to hold other things, like a baby.

Issues

If you have an average-sized breast pump like the Spectra, this bag will be slightly too small to fit the breast pump well.

FAQs – Breast Pump Bags

Do I need a cooler section for the breast milk or should I put it in a fridge?

No, you can do okay without the cooler section if you don’t mind putting pumped milk straight into the fridge at work.

However, if you do not have a fridge available or would rather put the bottles in a sealed bag, you will want a cooler. Not everyone wants to announce they just expressed milk at work.

You also may not want other people having access to your baby’s milk and risk they may knock it over!

Another issue is you need the milk to stay cold until you get home so the breast milk doesn’t spoil.

You could use a lunch bag as an alternative. Eat while you pump and make room for the bottles as you empty the contents into your stomach.

What else should I carry in a breast pump bag?

The items in your bag are up to you and depend on your needs.

Some moms who are headed back to work need to take a laptop, while others need portfolios or other bulky items. Other moms only need the bag to serve as a purse and a pump bag when they are away from baby for a few hours.

No matter where you are headed, you should make sure that at the very least, your breast pump bag can carry the pump itself, empty bottles for filling, plus the flanges and attachments that you’ll need when it’s time to pump. You’ll also need a way to clean your pump parts, so a microwave disinfecting bag comes in handy. Oh, and don’t forget space or a separate cooler for the liquid gold you’ve collected.

Remember though, the more you put in the bag the heavier it gets.

Breast pumps aren’t exactly lightweight, nor are bottles filled with milk. You carry a baby the whole time you are home. When you are at work or out and about, you may want to give your shoulders and back a break. Carrying the heavy weight on one shoulder can throw off your posture

What other supplies do I need for my breast pump bag?

First off, you need a breast pump! Duh.

Great nursing bras make pumping a whole lot easier. If you would rather, a nursing cami can fit well under a suit jacket and help with pumping and you may want to keep an extra one in your bag in case of leaks.

A nursing cover can make you more comfortable when pumping away from home, especially if you don’t want to end up hiding out in a bathroom somewhere.

You may also need a stash of breast pads to keep you dry until your meeting is over and you can pump.

Lastly, you may want some entertainment like a book or your phone to help you relax while you pump.
